Nourishing Lactation Cookies
Ingredients:
1 & 1/2 cups flour of your choice (I use almond or oat flour for nut-free but you can also use all purpose flour)
2 tbsp ground flaxseed
2 tbsp brewers yeast
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup coconut oil or ghee (melted)
1/2 cup maple syrup or coconut sugar
1 large egg
3/4 cup dark chocolate chips (depending on how chocolate-y you want them).
Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped nuts of choice or shredded coconut
(I love a macadamia and white chocolate version!)

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 180C / 350F.
2. Mix all dry ingredients in one bowl.
3. In another bowl, whisk wet ingredients.
4. Combine both mixtures and fold in chocolate chips.
5. Scoop dough into small golf ball size balls onto a lined baking tray.
6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Don’t leave too long or they will become too crispy! The key is to slightly undercook them so they are chewy.
7. Let cool and then store in an airtight container or freeze for later!
Why These Work:
✔️Oats are considered a galactagogue, meaning they help increase milk supply.
✔️Brewers yeast has been shown to boost prolactin levels (the hormone responsible for milk production)
✔️Flaxseeds are rich in omega-3s for babys brain development plus assist mums cognitive thinking!
✔️They’re packed full of healthy fats to fuel your milk supply and keep you satisfied for longer. ✔️They contain no nasties so you know exactly what’s going into your body.
