Designing a nursery is one of the most exciting parts of preparing for your baby’s arrival. Gone are the days when nurseries were confined to a white, pink or blue palette.
Today, more parents are opting for gender-neutral designs that focus on individual style, functionality and timeless appeal, allowing the space to grow with your little one, or as you welcome more children to the family.
You can create a visually appealing and practical space by styling with longevity in mind and making sustainable design choices.
Here we style a retro-inspired nursery, featuring soft pastel colours of matcha green, peach, yellow and cream, grounded with earthy tones. It’s perfect for creating a cosy, timeless space with a touch of whimsy.
Tip One: Colour Palette
- It’s important not to feel too limited here in terms of your hues. The more variety of colours you can add to the room, the greater the longevity you will have as your baby grows.
- For our Early Riser Collection, we went with a palette that embraces soft, nurturing tones. Pastel shades like matcha, peach, and yellow work as colours for walls or decor. Then incorporate creams, tans, and browns through textiles, rugs, or wooden furniture for a warm, grounded feel.
- Use accessories like cushions, wall art, or mobiles to add additional pops of colour and texture throughout the room as needed.
Tip Two: Furniture Choices
- Opt for versatile pieces that can evolve with the space.
