The Dreamers x Emma Wand - Emilee and Pat
Welcome to the Dreamers series, created in collaboration with Emma Wand Photography. Celebrating the beauty, chaos and magic of real family life. This month, meet Emilee and Pat.

My name is Em and Pat is my partner. I'm a motherhood photographer who focuses on the simplicity of the everyday in a family home.
Where do you call home?
I call Bonny Hills in NSW home - slow paced, cozy little beachside town.
Coffee order or morning ritual?
Milo always, in bed with my love and the doggo's snoring at our feet
Early bird or night owl?
Early bird - love the quietness and stillness

A dreamer to me is refusing to believe that life has to be polished to be meaningful. I’m a simple dreamer, chasing the day to day kind rhythms that will always fill my cup.
A dream you’re currently chasing?
To connect with women who have / are living with PND and capture them in a way that will make them feel seen and HELD. A quiet, subtle moment that embraces vulnerability and trust. An experience that can bring a little bit of light to their blurry days.

The best advice you’ve ever been given?
A small daily habit that keeps you grounded?
Always saying good morning and good night to my love.
Who helped shape you the most growing up?
My Nan and Pop. I’ve never seen a love like the love they share. 65+ years married, in the one family home, that was always home to anyone and everyone. When I think of a ‘homely feeling’ it’s sitting around their dining table eating scones or falling asleep in front of their fire on the lounge room floor, pop singing in the background. They’re the biggest reminder of the simpler times.

From mum, I learnt that you don’t need all the fancy things, you just need family, a bucket load of good memories and a safe space for to always come home to.
One thing your partner is teaching you right now?
Pat is teaching me to slow down without guilt. Currently 39 weeks pregnant, slowness has been welcomed but ‘doing nothing’ has been challenging. He grounds me in such a beautiful way.
. A song that’s currently on repeat?
You’ll be in my heart - Phil Collins. We are a nostalgic household and have sung this throughout the whole pregnancy.
What’s bringing you joy at the moment?
Joy at the moment is sitting with Pat in the backyard with the doggo’s, talking about and visualising all the little daily antics we will get up to with our kiddo’s. Sharing fond memories from our childhoods and talking about ways we can bring them into our little ones lives is so special. Bring on all the camping adventures!

Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth - absolutely love hearing and reading other women’s birth stories.
Your go-to weekend outfit?
Comfort always - sloppy tee and undies at home for the morning and then some fun pants and a tee when we do an outing.
Beach, bush or backyard hang?
Backyard hang always. Tunes on, the smell of the BBQ cooking, throwing the ball for the dogs and sitting around with all our friends and fam.
Favourite way to spend a slow Sunday?
Milo in bed, stroll to the beach with the doggos, paint for hours, The Eagles playing in the background, long chats with my love over dinner and a bath to wind down.
Something people might not know about you?
Growing up with my sister and Mum as a single parent has created a relationship between us that I couldn’t possibly describe. It’s special and deep rooted.
One sentence you’d tell your younger self?
Trust your gut - if it doesn’t feel right just let it go. I promise it will create space for something bigger and more meaningful.
Fave Banabae pieces?
Absolutely EVERYTHING! But if I had to choose… Quilted backpacks, park hangs playsuit and all the swaddles.
