Flash Back to 2019: The Gifting Struggle Was Real
Finding the perfect gift for Father’s Day is tough. Trust us, we’ve been there. A few years ago, working from Jasmines back deck over coffee and chaos (thanks, toddlers), we were talking about how hard it is to find something thoughtful, useful, within budget, and actually cool for the dads in our lives. Why are men so hard to buy for?
We Realised We Weren’t Alone
Here is our first cap circa 2019!
Thoughtful. Wearable. Sustainable.
We wanted to create something practical but special. A keepsake, but cool. So we designed the first Rad Dad cap with our own outdoorsy men in mind - what would they wear? What do they like? What should the logo look like? …..and of course it needed to be sustainably made. No gimmicks, just good vibes.
It took off! FAST
We started out making just 50 caps for our first ever run. We sent out an email and they sold out in a day! So then we made another 100, gone again. Then 200. Every drop flew off the shelves. That’s when we knew this was something more than just a cap.
From Cap to Collection
Fast forward to today, the Rad Dad range includes all the things rad dad’s wear on the daily. Tees, socks, backpacks, and those very much loved gifts that match with their little ones (yeah rad kid!). We created pieces that celebrate both fathers AND father figures (Funcle, pop’s, coach) because as we all know - It takes a village! The Banabae rad dad range has now become a tradition for so many families each Father’s Day and we couldn’t be more proud!
